Owner/Guide Action NW Guide Service

Over the years my passion for fishing has led to me in sharing and teaching others what I know. I never imagined that teaching could be so rewarding. The look of joy on other anglers’ faces when they hook into a Salmon or Steelhead after applying some of the techniques I taught them is unforgettable and more rewarding than hooking and landing these incredible anadromous fish myself!

More about your guide!

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. My name is Tom Moonan, and I am the Owner and Fishing Guide at Action NW Guide Service. I was born and raised in rural Pennsylvania amongst the Allegheny National Forest. From the time I was a young boy I have been addicted to fishing. Fishing was my family’s pastime, and was very special to me. Whether I was fishing in the small streams and creeks for various species of trout or fishing the reservoirs that make up a large portion of the national forest for Walleye and Bass I could never get enough of having a rod and reel in my hand and being on the water.

I enlisted in the U.S Army when I was just 17 under the Delayed Entry Program. And a few days after my 18th birthday I left for basic training. Upon the completion of basic training and AIT I had the privilege of being stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I was in an area of the country that was very special with the added bonus of being a fisherman’s paradise!
In 2004, I completed my enlistment. I decided I didn’t want to leave this paradise I had found. So, I decided to make Washington my permanent home. Since then a large portion of my free time has been dedicated to pursuing my passion for Salmon and Steelhead fishing. I consider myself a student who is constantly honing my skills to become a better angler.
